Human
Book Design
Human is a poem book that describes mood in the words of regular people. Mood is a very difficult thing to define because of its subjectivity. Human takes on this challenge by showcasing definitions of the different moods written by various people, as well as the expression of these moods through poems uploaded onto the web by amateur writers. The purpose of the book is to evoke some kind of feeling within its readers, as life can feel dull due to quarantine. In short, its purpose is to aid its readers to simply feel. Feel human.

What Does “it” Mean?
The Book is divided into sections, each dedicated to a specific mood. The sections start off with the dictionary definition of each mood, followed by the definitions written by regular people. This is to show the diversity in how mood can be felt, despite it having a shared meaning at the same time.
Humorous: When something or someone is being funny, like when my friends and I all hangout, it usually leads to a pretty humorous time

Image Treatment
Moods are felt and expressed differently and this is shown in the image treatment. What is focused on can be only a fraction of what is truly being felt. Therefore, the images focus on one area, but shows the bigger picture in the background. The cropped section is surrounded by dispersing lines to show mimic feeling. Each section has a slightly different combination of lines to represent the different tensions of each mood: for Angry the lines are rigid and sharp like burning fire, whereas for Calm the lines are soft and more circular like a ripple in a pond.
Hopeful: Realistic but wishing for the best and having an idea that there is a chance of something great.
